Yugas as per Hindu Mythology

In this episode, we are discussing the period of Four Yugas as per Hindu Mythology in Sanatan Dharma. About which there are a lot of controversies. In the first part, we gathered a lot of facts. In this second part, we will analyze those facts and try to see if any system will be able to emerge during the period of Yugas. Most of the facts that we gathered about most of them get fit into it.

The subject of Yugas is very vast, that's why I have got a lot of things during research and I want to share everything with you, so I may not be able to tell everything in this part in part So maybe I will also bring part If you are new to the Web site, then visit to the Website  regularly, because we keep bringing Articles on such informative topics every week.

Period of Four Yugas as per Hindu Mythology in Veda.

If you have read  first part of this episode, you would know the problem before us regarding Yugas. Because if we see in Vedas, from our Rigveda to Atharvaveda, then in some mantras 1Yuga is equal to 1 year. Somewhere it is equal to 5 years, somewhere it is equal to 12 years and somewhere it is given equally to the generation.  There we saw in Atharvaveda 8thsection 2nd Suktas, 21st mantras, It Given Below

" Satm tedyutam Hayannadwea trini chatwari krunm

                                        Indragni Biswe debastediynu Manyantamahuniyamana"

then the period has given there are 10,000to 12,000years, but there is no mention of divine years. But if you come to Puranas, then in Puranas also a period of 12,000 years has been given but there is a concept of a divine year. This means 360 to be multiplied and then the period of yugas goes into lakhs and then what happens? Our astrological and archeological evidence regarding Ramayana and Mahabharata do not match, this is a problem.

Philosophical point of view of Four Yugas as per Hindu Mythology.

To solve this problem, when we will move forward on this topic, then we have to take care of one thing. The use of Yugas as per Hindu Mythology in our text has not been done only to show the cycle of time. We have such texts as well, the Sanatan original texts, and the Vedic texts, I'm not talking about Puranas. Where the use of four yugas is different from the cycle of time,  from a philosophical point of view and it has also happened from a physiological point of view.

It is very important that we understand this also and then proceed to solve this problem. Yugas Beyond Time If you look at Aitareya Brahmana which belongs to Shakala Shakha of the Rigveda, if you see panchika 7, chapter 33, section 15 there comes a mantra, that given below It has been told in this mantra that when a person keeps sleeping then it is the state of 'Kali Yuga' and when a person wakes up then it is 'Dvapara Yuga' and after that when he stands up then it can be called the state of 'Treta Yuga'.And when he walks it is the state of 'Satya Yuga'.

Physiological point of view about Four Yugas as per hindu mythology

That is why it is said that a person should always keep moving. We can see that here from the philosophical point of view about Yugas have been told. And if you see the Charaka Samhita and If you look at the section of Sharir Sthaan, it must be coming on your screen.

And it has been told that according to age and according to the condition of the body, these four yugas are there. For example, the childhood stage was called Satya yuga. The stage of youth has been compared with Treta Yuga and when old age comes it is called Dvapara Yuga and when the body suffers from diseases and the shadow of death comes means death, then it is called Kali Yuga, so in a way, it is seen from the physiological point of view.

Charaka Samhita opinion about Four Yuga as per hindu mythology

If you follow Charaka Samhita and if you are healthy and your mental and physical health is good, then you are not in Kali Yuga, this is what Charaka Samhita tells. In this way things have been told in different dimensions. In fact, if you look at the Mahabharata, Bhishma ji tells in the Shanti Parva of Mahabharata that the king can change the Yugas with their work and their governance, suppose your peoples are happy and wealthy And they are not under mental stress, there is prosperity all around, then in a way, it is Satya Yuga.

So, on your own talent, by self-governance, by your own diplomacy, you can also bring Satya Yuga in your state, this is told by Bhisma Ji. And we see that Ramarajya in Ramayana, the kind of atmosphere that prevails everywhere can only be considered as Satya Yuga. So I have prepared a basic understanding that apart from the time cycle of the Yugas, a philosophical and physiological view has also been given in our Vedic texts. Now, we have come to know everything, a basic understanding has been prepared, now we have to solve this problem with this.

Beginning Date of Kali Yugas as per Hindu Mythology

We have to start from somewhere, so we will start from today and suppose if we are in Kali Yuga, then we should start from Kali Yuga only. That's why first of all we see that when did the Kali Yuga begin? And when will it end? Two dates are very popular among modern scholars regarding the beginning of Kali Yuga. The first was 18February 3102 BC and the second was 2 November 5561 BC. Now, almost everyone has started accepting this first date because the basis of this is the two texts Aryabhatiya and Surya Siddhanta, we will see that now.

But the second date 2 November 5561 BC, This Institute of Advanced Science, Dartmouth USA  a scholar Nilesh Neelkanth Oak. He has collected a lot of pramana from Mahabharata  from the conditions of the planets and has derived this date by doing research on astronomy. So this date is also standing on a lot of evidence, so what is the approach behind both dates? What is the proof? We will see everything. So first of all we understand this date of 18 February 3102 BC.

Surya Siddhanta and Aryabhatiya

The first basis behind 18 February 3102 BC is Surya Siddhanta. If you see there in the 57th point in chapter 1  it is written there that at the end of Krita Yuga, means that at the end of Satya Yug, all the planets get aligned in Aries. But no date has been given in Surya Siddhanta, Nor 18 February. It is of the Gregorian calendar. But according to the panchaang, no date has been given related to Kali Yuga, what was the starting date of Kali Yuga? On the other hand, if we look at Aryabhatiya which is the second base.

There Aryabhatta Ji tells that in one of his sentences, when 3 yugas had passed and 3600 years of Chatur Yugas had passed, then he was 23 years old. This means when he was writing this Aryabhatiya, he was 23 years old. Now the thing to note in this is that we have not derived the date of Kali Yuga by using this fact and using this evidence. We have found out about the birth date of Aryabhatta Ji. What we have done? We have accepted the date of Kali Yuga as 18 February 3102 BC. Then added 3600 years of Kali Yuga to it and added 23 more years because at the age of 23 he is writing Aryabhatiya and then after that, we said that in 499AD Aryabhatiya has been written. And subtract 23 more years  then we get the birth date of Aryabhatta ji.

Yuga  calculation according to Aryabhatta Age

It is our misfortune that we do not know the birth date of Aryabhatta Ji because if somehow we know his birth date or know his year of birth then on the basis of this fact, he has told that 3600 years of Chatur Yugas +30 years from what has passed, we can also deduce the starting date of Kali Yuga. Now, in Surya Siddhanta about the alignment of planets has written about that at the end of Yugas as per Hindu Mythology.the planets that we can see, the major planets are aligned in Aries. So we have to pay attention to this, here at the end of Krita Yuga is said that at the end of Satya Yuga.

Also at the end of Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga starts not Kali Yuga, so we have made a mistake by assuming that the planets are getting aligned in Aries, it is the beginning of Kali Yuga, While it is clearly written that at the end of Krita Yuga. Secondly, we also have to check the planets are aligning at the end of Krita Yuga to whom we are giving the date of 18 February 3102 BC, were they really aligned that day? or not? So in this direction, a researcher at Cornell University named Richard L. Thomson, he was a statistical mathematician, a biological mathematician and also worked on Quantum theory. There was a person Duffett smith, who developed a computer program. So by using it, on 18 February 3120 BC calculated and simulated the directions are the direction of the planets.

what does it have? The planets on it 18 February 3102 BC have been given their longitudinal mean positions  and true positions have also been given. Now the reference, in whose respect these angles are is the first Nakshatra in Aries,  Revati it has been given in its respect. And let me tell you that  the Aries or any other zodiac sign, there are 12 zodiac sign it is of 30 degrees, and what have we done? we have taken angles are taken from the first Nakshatra, then all negative angles will be gone out from Aries.

Alignment of planets in Zodiac.

The degree they are going it will be coming in front of you and whatever positive angles are there, even if they exceed 30 degrees will go out of Aries. So from one point of view, the alignment is not that perfect, the kind of alignment that is being talked about. But yes, it is allied, because the alignment of planets is very impossible. It is very much impossible because we have to understand that the planets are there, the orbital plane is at an angle to the earth's orbital plane.

So when they are moving at an angle, they can never be allied up together. It is a very impossible thing and first of all the planets that we saw in the sky at the time of Surya Siddhanta have been talked about, which are the major five planets like Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn and only their alignment has been talked about. Uranus and Neptune were not visible in the sky, so they have not been talked about and it has also been seen that if we talk about the alignment of 8 planets, which are our  8 planets today, then there is no such coincidence in 396 billion years if such coincidence will be made, if made, otherwise, it cannot be made.

Richard L.Thomson's research onYugas as per Hindu mythology.

Alignment cannot happen at all, so a rough alignment seems to be being made. If we assume that in the sky if planets turn to one side, then from this data which is extracted by Richard L. Thomson, if it is correct, then according to that it can be assumed that around Aries all the planets were aligned and ‘Rahu’ is moon's orbit  and the intersection point of sun's orbit and Earth's orbit had been at 180 degrees. This means it was in the opposite direction. We can also see in the table that almost it is at 160 degrees.

So this is the same basis on which 18 February 3102 BC has been considered as the starting date of Kali Yuga. Now let us see how the date of 2 November  5561 BC has been chosen as the starting date of Kali Yuga. Now the second date is 2 November 5561 BC as I had said Nilesh Neelkanth Oak has proposed that, he has done a lot of research. A lot of evidence has been extracted from Ramayana and Mahabharata and he has also written books, he has written 3 books but his 2 book is on Ramayana, and one is on Mahabharata he did dating of that book.

Nilesh Neelkanth Oak's opinion on Ramayan and Mahabharat.

So he told that the Ramayana happened around 12209 BC. And the Mahabharata happened around 5561BC. Now Nilesh Oak ji believes that if you are extracting the starting date of Kali Yuga. Then you cannot do this work without reading Mahabharata. Also without including Mahabharata. Because the most talked about yugas As per Hindu Mythology in any scripture. If we take Sanatan Dharma, then it happened in Mahabharata. Most of the Kali Yuga has been told in Mahabharata. So they believe that what we are extracting from Surya Siddhanta and Aryabhatiya. According to astrology what Aryabhatta ji told or is told in Surya Siddhanta. There no role is mentioned in Mahabharata.

That's why they say that first of all, even if we are making a date on the basis of astronomy, then at least read the Mahabharata. That's why, first of all, we understand the dating of Mahabharta that he has drawn out. The evidence they have collected, he has told that and as we also know that the first day of Mahabharata, the first day of the war happened on Kartik Amavasya. And the 17 days after that go to the next month i.e. Margashirsha.

Now, from what we know, we know one more thing on the 10th day the Bhishma Ji  had gone on the bed of arrows. And when he left his soul? when the sun went down in Uttarayana, which means on the winter solstice, which came at least 92days after the 10 th day, so a lot of what we know about the planets, and about their conditions.

Astronomical software Calculation

So when they put them into astronomical software in the simulations. On 16 October 5561 BC the war had started they came to know. Now the war started on 16 October and they say that Kali Yuga started on 2 November in 5561BC. Why do they say this? Because we believe that when the war of Mahabharata ended. After 36 years when Krishana Ji left the earth. Then Kali Yuga started. We believe and according to this. We have given the date of Kali Yuga as  18February. Then from this on 36 years ago we find out the date of Mahabharata. But what is here?

Here, the date of Kali Yuga is extracted from the date of Mahabharata. It is being said here that on 16 October 5561 BC Mahabharata started. This means the first day of the war started and the 18th day means the 2nd of November 5561 BC. On that day Kali Yuga started. Now Nilesh ji is telling this for this reason that there are many proof in the Mahabharata. Which directly tell that Kali Yuga started on the 18th day of the war. For this, he gives an example that in Adi Parva someone told Vaisampayana. In the middle of Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga as it was about to start the war ends. Means on the 18 th day when the war ends the Kali Yugas begins.

Jeevan Rai and Nilesh Oak's research, according to Yuganta word.

And to support and collaborate this, Jeevan Rai ji is a young scholar, and a young researcher. The study he has done supports him. Because he tells that when the war was starting. Parva before that in them the discussion of Yugant started very fastly. That Yugas as per Hindu Mythology going to end. Also Yugant words going to come more in the Mahabharata. But as soon as the war ends, the -day war ends. After that Parva the words Yugant are not coming. Meaning in a way it has been accepted that now Yugas has ended and Kali Yuga has come.

So the use of the word yugant has stopped. They also tell that the word yugant was being used for future tense. At the time of war, it was being used in the present. And as soon as the war was over. It started being used in the past tense. So Jeevan Rai's research supports Nilesh Oak's research. So in this way, he derived the date of 2nd November 5561BC. I have told you about both the date. One is 18 th February 3102 BC and 2nd November 5561 BC. Behind both dates what are the approaches and what are the proof.  Now I have told this. I have told you about that. But now the problem has become very big. Because if it is seen if we take the duration of yugas as millions of years.

Ramayan ,Mahabharat Time not match according to million year Yugic  period

So Before Dvapara Yuga, Treta Yuga should come millions of years ago. But Nilesh Oak ji says that Ramayana happened before 12000 BC. And other researchers or other scholars told they keep the period of Ramayana around 5000 to 6000 BC. There will be a problem because even if we accept the Mahabharata period millions of years ago. Whether it happened 3000 BC years ago or 5000 BC years ago. Then approx 8,00,000 years ago. If you see the period of Dvapara Yuga is 8,64,000. And Mahabharata happened at the end of Dvapara Yuga. So according to that, the period of Ramayana will not match at all. Because we are talking about the period of Ramayana 10,000BC, 12000BC, or 5000 BC. And according to this Ramayana is not coming out years 8,00,000 ago, this is the first problem.

Divine year  problems for calculation on Yugas as per Hindu mythology

Now the second problem we have to understood.  Suppose we leave the concept of Yugas as per Hindu Mythology with a duration of millions of years. Also accept that the 12000 divine years are mentioned in the Puranas. Even everywhere is the normal human year.  If it is not a Divine year. Then according to that the period of Kali Yuga came it will be 1200 years. Because its double is our Dvapara Yuga and triple is Treta Yuga and fourth time is Satya Yuga.

Then if we add 1200+2400 +3600 +4800 and it will be 12000. So the Kali Yuga 1,2000 of and if we assume 1200 of human beings. Now the date we have calculated 3000 BC and 5000 BC and if we add 1200 then it will end. Then how is Kali Yuga going? Because if we add another 1000 years to 5000 BC. Then it will be 4000 BC. If we add 1000 more years to  3000. Then it will be 2000 BC then it means Kali Yuga is over.

There is a question is the Kali Yug Ended?

We are stuck from both sides.  Nor we can take the age of 1,00,000 years because according to that Ramayana should be very old. The Ramayana cannot happen now. Nor can we take it for 1000years, because according to that the Kali Yuga is over. So we are stuck in the middle of nowhere.

To solve the problem further, we will go to part three will discuss more things there. Other parts of this article Links Given Below. Also try to see what else went wrong. What things are misleading and what is really true. We will meet in part three. if you have liked this video.
